  1. welcome
  2. I recently joined an owners group and been to a few of the social meets (not been out on any of the rides yet due to weather and Xmas). Everyone's been nothing but nice and welcoming.
  3. Don't think that link is working. I've seen so many different racks and box options....making little blood vessel pop in my temples. Was hoping someone was offloading one thats come directly off the same bike (so I know 100% it fits).
  4. Anyone offloading pannier racks for a Triumph Tiger 800xc, please give me a shout
  5. Just stuck some Seafoam in mine using the 50/50 mix, but I think the little bit of fuel that was already in the tank watered it down a bit further. Bike is running groggy at low revs so suspect FI need a good scrub. Made a massive difference but still at little bit stuttery at low revs....have you ever slapped seafoam in the tank neat without mixing?
  6. Agree with all the other comments, very much doubt the price will come down due to new year. If you've got cash in your pocket, like @Mississippi Bullfrog says.....get to haggling. If they've got chance of a sale there and then.... likely to knock a bit of mulah off
  7. Welcome to the great rabbit hole that is motorbikes. Whatever you end up getting.....there'll always be that other one you want. Have fun and good luck with the Theory etc
  8. Can the jacket be powered from a motorcycle usb, or is it just from a power bank? I have a conveniently placed din socket that would be perfect for usb heated clothing.
  9. Yup...totally agree on larger engines being easier to ride. 125s feel twitchy and jittery. Got on a 125 a few weeks ago and felt completely unsafe and vulnerable again compared to being on my Tiger 800. However.... With more power, things can go wrong much quicker and with greater consequences.
  10. Thats me.... Does this make me YouTube famous
  11. Check for service history, check online the MOT history (are there any advisories that haven't been sorted). Check log book matches details of the bike Reg/Engine number. Check state of sprockets/chain. Check brakes work. Check all lights work......and for any lights you don't want on the dash (engine management lights/oil etc). Have a good look around the engine block/pipes joins....is there any 'bike juices' leaking from anywhere. Check tyres for any damage/tread depth all the way round the tyre. Cant think of anything else from the top of my head......coffee hasn't quite kicked in yet.
  12. Yeah..... a convoy of 500 bikers was a special sight to see and be in. People lined the streets in the villages to watch us go by.
  13. We raised £4718 and it all goes to the RBL
  14. Cracking morning out at Squires, Sherburn in Elmet for the Yorkshire Ride of Remembrance on Sunday. Was fab to see such a good turn out. First time doing something like this and was such a good vibe. Will be going up on the 1st Dec to take part in the Toy Run to Bedale Xmas Market.
  15. Good luck with the tests.
  16. I can kick out some right belters when I'm chugging along on the Tiger. Luckily its a live performance for one....and no-one else can get in my helmet
  17. Did you ask the crow what it identifies as? Could be non-binary, could identify as they/them (technically a murder).... could identify as a Macaw, or a Cow!!!!
  18. Just checked the ferry prices for next year ....for that price I hope they let you have a go at steering the ship. One way is more than return tickets to Calais via tunnel. However that said, what we save in fuel/time to Hull (we're in South Yorkshire) may make it worth it.
  19. My take on it: Just ride to your own abilities/level of confidence..... screw what everyone else does.....nice and steady does the trick. All the stalling, clutch control, gearing etc comes with time and practice. Soon it will just become second nature and muscle memory and this feeling you have now will be long forgotten. As for the hi-vis L vest.... ditch it and use a regular hi-vis vest. It'll only make the four-wheeled caged drivers more impatient and want to get around you. As for being a target and everyone out to get you....yup....that's the life of a biker....they don't look out for you. So ride defensively, own your patch of road, make your observations.... and make them again....get into the habit of checking over your shoulders when turning into junctions/changing lanes and you'll be dandy. Most of all......don't overthink it....go and enjoy it.
  20. Never thought of taking the ferry over to Rotterdam, then coming back through France then to the UK via Tunnel. That's one to ponder
  21. Absolutely fab advice.... and that Old Gits Checklist is perfect. Does that mean I'm an old git now?
  22. Yeah we'll be planning a day of non-riding rest. I usually pack as light as possible clothing wise anyway. We wont be doing any of the cities, most likely be staying well clear of them. Great advise on using the Credit Cards. @bonio What's the BlueTac for? Luckily I've got and carry most of that list on my bike anyway except for the engine oil.
  23. Never knew about the breathalyser being a legal requirement.... Something else that would've caught us out. Luckily I used to go to the Download Festival quite a lot... So have oodles of travel first aid supplies, camping stoves, light weight travel/camping equipment I can tap into. Think I might go up to Scotland for a week beforehand (get quite a lot of the summer off work), get some practice in before we cause mayhem in mainland Europe
  24. Breathalyser??? Is that a legal requirement as I don't drink at all.
