  1. Varifocals are great :) I had no trouble at all, took to them straight away, but I know some folks can take a while, & a few just don't get on with them at all - think that's less usual though, & maybe sometimes just due to not persevering enough.

If you don't want to be wearing one set for distance & another for close-up then I doubt you'll get specs from a £shop though :? !!!

I've worn contacts for years ( close-up vision fine but blind as bat at distances) but always like to have specs to wear at times (when I first get up/have dry tired eyes etc.) As of about 2 years ago my distance vision got worse though so with stronger prescription couldn't see close up, ok with lenses could pop on reading glasses but then middle distance was horrible

Tried all sorts of other options nothing felt right, now have varifocal specs & multifocal lenses (contact lens equivalent of varifocal specs) - can see properly again & no phaffing taking specs on & off, brilliant :D

Sure you'll be fine with them, & I definitely agree with varifocals especially it's better to pay a bit extra for a better quality lens.

  2. I'm glad the missus isn't watching this too, as I just caught my self leaning in the same direction as the bike mounted cameras.

PMSL    just pictured that, pepsi went down my nose onto my lappy

Who couldn't love Guy Martin eh ? :) Seems to me that near enough all the TT riders are down to earth top blokes. Grand prix car racers seem to be - err is saying arrogant w**kers allowed ?

  3. Yes generally hate em, but been to a few that were ok - & mine was pretty good !

As we & all our friends were all strapped for cash we decided not to tell anyone we were getting married - apart from the 2 `best women' who were our witnesses. We were moving 100 miles away the following week so we just told everyone we cared about we were throwing a leaving party at a good nearby pub then when they got there they found out we'd actually got hitched earlier that day. TBH I'd known so many people who'd landed up nervous wrecks with all the planning & politics of who to invite, stressing over the cost etc & just thought "what IS the point ???" :)

  4. Beautiful beautiful beautiful bike, sigh. Would love to have one & ride it myself .... 8-) OH & me both love the old British bikes, he's had a few Triumphs (still has his 1975 triumph Tiger) & Bonnevilles a BIG fav.

Excellent review, really comprehensive. If I do ever bite the bullet & sit & pass the test then I'll be straight back to here...

  5. Oooooh this is a `depends' answer for me. If I hadn't noticed till I went out & it was B&Q or some other big chain then I'd have thought "sound !" & said nowt - but might have felt a bit guilty - might... Smaller independent place then it would depend - if the staff were friendly n helpful & the prices were ok I'd go back & tell them - if they weren't very nice I'd keep my gob shut though.
