Hello,

I am planning to do a small 4-day roadtrip over the easter week-end, Friday to Monday.

That will be my first one so I was hoping to get some ideas/suggestions of great place to go over 4 days without riding 24h a day. Since it will be my first one, I am not sure if I will get tired, etc...

As I am based in Surrey, I had the following ideas/thoughts

- Cornwall for 4 days

- Belgium (passing next to Lille to see the grdma)

- Wales

Any ideas/comments will be more than welcome :)

Cheers

I would stay this side of the water for a first time outing - if anything does go wrong or you just get fed up you can get home more easily. Bit like camping in the back garden to make sure your tent doesn't leak before heading to the Lakes for a week's holiday!

Head North All the best biking roads, scenery and people are up here.

Wales is good, mid to north wales better IMO, Yorkshire has some of the best roads only rivaled by Scotland.

Where ever you go be prepared

Good check over of the bike, Let people know where your going each day, Waterproofs, money, and Camera.

Roadside recovery is worth having.

Make sure you take regular rests. Concentration can really fatigue you, especially if you are not used to it.

I'd stay in this country (as PPF suggested). Wales can be nice, but they don't like bikers much in North Wales.

North of the country can be nice.

But why plan? Just point the bike in a direction and see where you end up!!

Thanks Guys.

Yes, staying in the UK does make sense :)

Regarding recovery, etc.; the bike is still brand new (manufacturer roadside assistance + insurance one) and will have had its 600 miles service just before the trip.

I don't want to plan every day going from there to there, but I want a rough idea of where I should head too :)

I guess I will investigate Yorkshire. If anyone has specially good roads/places to see around there, please do let me know.

Cheers,

If your doing 4 days you could do yorkshire then onto the lake district, lake coniston is a must, very beutiful place. Other option is scotland, one of the most beautiful places in the world right on our door step!

are yopu camping or B&B'g, lakes can be expensive over easter... but if you do come up this end, let me know, and we might show you round, and if you fancy a roof and a beer, could always put you up in my house., have a look through NW rides to see some of the places i've been and on offer in the area... Myths and legends being a good one... also can point you in the direction of a couple of camp sites..

Morning,

sorry for the delayed reply but was on holidays.

It looks like I will be sent in business trip so I can't make any plan anymore :crybaby:

Why they don't have a 4-day easter in all countries?
