Got the same boots and love them, they're extreamly comfortable though not entirely weather proof, though they're pretty good to say I've never put any nikwax on or anything. Paid £145 at BMF

Before them I had Sidi vertigo boots which I did treat with nikwax once in a while, used them in one of the most server storms I've seen and took them off when I got home to reaveal bone dry feet!

Sidis are really comfortable and will last you years, though the initial depreciation is horiffic.

EDIT: Just like to add just how comfortable they are, I've put them on instead of trainers to go round town before and for looks I've worn them to the pub!!

I`ve had the Sidi for about two years, I`ve had to have them re-soled and now the zip has gone, and the Vertigo`s are not waterproof, believe me ....I`ve done a few miles in them. I`d have another pair but definately only for the summer. Don`t know about Alpinestars so cannot comment.

I bought today a pair of Sidi Vertigo. They're so amazing & fit my fat calfs/calves quite happily. I'm yet to ride in them but can't wait as they're extremely comfy !

Had a few pairs but liked the vertebres before and got the vertigos now, lovely boots, yes they squeek n groan walking but thats al part of it lol

I've been using Alpinestar, and I am very pleased. But my friends have to wear Sidi shoes are too happy. Only Alpinestar is recognized worldwide.

I tried on the Alpinestar because, as you say, they're a better-known brand. They just didn't fit over my calfs so went for the Sidi.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Where did you get them re-soled? Did you send them to Sidi directly?

I am 99% sure that I will go with the Sidi Vertigo Mega Gore-Tex Boots but it seemed that only the model above could easily have its sole replaced.

Thanks

Ludo
