bex Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 i am liking this new moto 2 class, yes i am sad that the 250's have gone but this new class is an engineers dream guess where i am aiming for all on honda il4 engineslocked ecuno tracktion controlall on dunlopsall on same fuel suplyer41 bikes on the grid, 15 different frame suplyers and loads of other thingsgood times Quote
jimsoon Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 They seem pretty good, it'll be intresting to see all 41 into the 1st corner!! Quote
bex Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 well Redding was 2nd fastest in practice and .6 seconds separating the top 9 Quote
chris128 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 I dont get it, everything has to be the same even down to the fuel but then they are allowed different frames (and presumably other parts of the bike) ? I thought the idea of locking them all down to the same thing was to make it so that its rider skill that wins and not a better bike setup but if they are still allowed to change other parts of the bike then doesnt that defeat the point? excuse my ignorance Quote
jimsoon Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Isn't everything locked except the frame?? It was pretty close in the practice so it's working! Quote
bex Posted April 10, 2010 Author Posted April 10, 2010 they have taken away all the rider aids, the ECU is locked and there is no traction control, they are allowed to change frame, swing arm and other little bits but they dont have as much an impact as being able to alter the electrical side/tyres or engine Quote
techno Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Good riddance to the 250's I say the moto 2s look good and the racing should be good and it will be good if some national championships take it up as well which will lead to more wildcards and others getting a chance more than just spanish and italians! Netmeister Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 After seeing Scott Redding I bet he's having second thoughts about his decision. Quote
techno Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 I just thought it would be better to get in at the start unless he wins the 125 championship and can move up with aspar? Quote
chris128 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Just watched the Moto 2 race on BBC iPlayer (mainly cos its the only race you can actually watch for free...) and yeah it was pretty good, a lot of extremely close passes and good riding all round. Will certainly try to follow it throughout the season, think they said the next race is in 2 weeks time so I'll have to try remember to watch that one as well Quote
Guest akey Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 techno, I'm with you there on both points mate, moto2 is definatly a better class than the aprillia (sorry 250) class.the pressure is on Brad this season he has to get at least 2nd in the champs or he will be going backwards, and his competetion looks on it. I would have liked to see him move up, think he would have done well in moto2 this season. If he does well this season in 125 then he will get the chance for a good team i suppose, but if he is 3rd he will probably stay in 125 another year as I dont think he will get a good moto2 ride.
