  1. Was watching it live, it never even crossed my mind that he wouldn't be ok, you just never expect (or want) it to happen. A very sad day, to loose someone so young and with so many prospects. R.I.P little man
  2. donny is back up and running as a track now I think he means if he plans on going gravel surfing again
  3. Looking to leave at 7am Monday morning, so will hopefully get there before your second session. Phil I take it the gazebo and banners will be out?
  4. No you numpty I meant on track! Good news about the bike and the alarm. So you just went for the chop it out method? Not sure if I can do that with mine, think I need to follow it into the bike's loom and rejoin some wire to fix the circuits.....I'm pretty much guessing though
  5. So are you riding blake? Hows the bike coming along? If you've removed the alarm I'd love to hear how you got on because I've got to tackle the exact same job on mine
  6. Oh maaaaan! So should I bring some grub to chuck on there?
  7. Sweet, free food I'll be sleeping in the car on Monday night, any idea if they'll still want 5 sovs off me?
  8. Getting close now guys, hope you've got everything sorted. As you know I won't be riding but I will come up anyway as I'm off work. I've decided to travel up on the Monday morning so should get there between 10-11. Phil, you mentioned something about a BBQ in the evening? Is there anything you need me to bring?
  9. Bugger Blake! Hope you're doing alright. So you joining the cheerleading squad with me and Chris? I've got a spare pair of pom poms going!
  10. Haha no its the left wrist in plaster, not the right
  11. It was a strage one, I started braking in my normal spot but even though I had the anchor on hard, I didn't feel like I was slowing down enough. Started to veer off to the left and just froze up on the bike, tried to get it turned ever so slightly and the front just went. Looks like I'll be spectating with you mate lol oh and I'm ok. Got my wrist in plaster but it's only precautionary as the x-rays came back ok
  12. The end goal was to track it and buy a sensible road bike sometime in the future, maybe this is a sign that I have to track it now I've got about £1000 to put it right that I've got from cancelling insurance, tax and those 2 cadwell days so I should be able to get it running over the next couple of months.
  13. A lesson learned a little too late The bike isn't actually that bad. Frame, forks, bars, wheels etc all look fine, it's just the plastics that are wrecked. One worrying thing is it doesn't start, and I can't hear the injection system start up when I put the ignition on, but it could just be a plug come undone somewhere. Got next week off so might strip it and see whats what, could be tough with a wrist in plaster though
  14. So so sorry to have to do this guys, but I've got to take the same road as Chris. I binned my bike at Brands yesterday evening so I won't be able to afford to do the trackdays as all spare money is going on repairing the bike. However, I've got the days off so I'll still come up for a day (or maybe both) and be a pit bitch and also take a few snaps of you guys. Don't know what I'll do with the bike yet i.e. track it or get it back to road trim. The way I'm feeling right now I'm starting to debate if trackdays are such a good idea, but maybe that will change after I've seen you guys take on Cadwell. 15. Bugger Chris, thats a real shame! Hopefully see you at some point over the two days, just make sure you bring the bacon rolls Getting really excited about this now!!!!!!
  16. I try and see every single race I can in the MotoGP, WSB and BSB series' and have often spent whole sundays in front of the telly when there are two meetings on the same weekend. WSB is definately the best series to watch this year, CAN'T WAIT to see them boys at Sillystone now. Oh, but I do watch F1 and am enjoying it so far this season, love seeing Hamilton n Button right at the sharp end.
  17. I think it's about that from me No excuse now T
  18. Oh sorry its with Focused Events, check it out here The 7th is looking pretty shakey for me now, I will know by the 23rd.
  19. lol sorry but that kinda made me giggle... not at what happened but just sounded funny That was my intention
  20. Surgery was a 'success' http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sport/sportresults/MotoGP/2010/June/jun0510-Mugello-MotoGP-Valentino-Rossi-surgery-a-success/
  21. This could be the perfect moment for Rossi to retire, being reigning champ and all that, then he can go on to do other things i.e join ferrari. Time will tell.
  22. Don't know about the track but have to say the zip together leathers isn't a stupid rule. I would have got some serious road rash if I didn't have zippers when I came off, the bottom of my leathers got pulled up and the zip torn to pieces, just held on long enough to save my skin. I know it's an expensive expense, but it's definately a must have IMO Bite the bullet, get some leathers, and come join me on the 29th at Brands
  23. @ Smiles I passed my test in April 09 and did my first TD in the following July and I got on fine. Well when I say fine...I mean I crashed...but I went out there with something to prove and come unstuck. Go out there with a sensible head on and I promise you you'll be fine. @ Foz No track day is a race. You turn up, they let you out, and you can bimble around at what ever speed you want (within reason)
  24. Brands is closest to you, then roughly in the following order Thruxton, Silverstone, Snetterton, Mallory Park, Rockingham, Cadwell, Outlon Park, Anglesey, Knockhill There are other tracks than the above, but they're the only ones I know of that run track days. Some others do but I don't know what they are.
