Guest Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 found a lovley country road today!! it had a long sweeping left then about a quater mile straight leading up to slight hill and a hidden dip followed by about 3 more hillis and dips.at the crest of each one it felt like i was going to take off ony doing 50-60ish too so im sure if you have a 600cc you will be able to lift off i will be back there tomorrow, weather permitting, and will get the location for anyone that wants to have a go.Andy Quote
j4ff Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Along the A68 theres a really long straight which has several blind summats. There is no way im ever planning to take off.It will end in tears or worse.Dont do it. Quote
Guest Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 theres that bit on the isle of man tt where all the bikes lift off, well their front tyre does anyway. i doubt ive got the skill to hold it if i did lift off so i wont be trying it just yet Quote
Jixerman Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Trouble is if its a blind dip you wont know whats coming the other way until its too lateIve seen what can happen first hand and it aint prettySo Im not condoning it, but just be *king careful Quote
j4ff Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 If its a summit to a flat it might not be too bad to get a bit of air but if theres a drop on the other side, like where i mentioned, and you go 5 mph more than you should it could be a long way down the other side before you land. You have virtualy no control over anything that happens once your wheels leave the road. Guest Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Plus there is the problem of uneven landing, which could result in tank slapper's / flying off etc Good fun i bet, just ya dont wana be pushing it too hard, just incase! Quote
PhatDad Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 There's a road near Melton Mowbary that I took a little too fast on the way down a hilly part. There was a hump/bump at the bottom. I went over it, left the ground slightly, landed with bump as the back wheel caught as no resistance meant it had sped up some and although I thought 'woooooooooooooooooooooghhhh yeahhhhhhh baby' I did shit myself.
