Guest Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 New so not sure if there are many members from Glasgow? If so, has anyone done DAS recently and would reccommend the place?Right now the only ones I know of are BikeRite, Harley's and Ride-On Going to have a phone round tomorrow to get an idea of prices etc, but it would be nice to know if anyone has any experience of the above, or would reccommend anywhere else in or around Glasgow.Cheers Quote
Guest Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I've just got my licence through RideOn. Was the restricted course not the DAS but.I was really pleased with the training and can recommend them. The instructors are great, got along really well with them. They also can book mod 1 practice sessions on sunday mornings which are a great confidence boost as mod 1 can be quite daunting. Not sure how they compete price wise so it's worth checking that out. Thanks for that, I phoned around the 3 places mentioned in my first post and I think I will be booking my CBT next month with RideOn!Incase it's any use to anyone else, the CBT pricing was as follows:RideOn - £130 inc. bike hire (£155 Guaranteed) Bike Rite - £100 inc. bike hireHarley's - £100 (couldn't get through to them but that's the price quoted on the website)Hopefully get the CBT and Theory out the way next month and then think about some lessons/Mod1 Quote
Ratser Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I did all my training with Bikerite.Although the instructor I had has now gone to Carmyle which is up in Queenslie Estate. But they were excellent and I couldn't recommend them highly enough.I think it was £720 in total, including CBT, DAS and bike hire, but didn't include test fee or the Theory. They also included bike hire should you fail the first time. Dire_Straits Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Im almost certain that Harleys has shut down now bud, i tried getting onto them as thats who a friend of mine did his CBT and big bike test with.I did my CBT with Ride on and passed first time. Went straight back after a few months and did the DAS cource. 8 lessons with Mod 1 and 2 booked up in advance (mod 2 after having passed 1) or something and a Mod 1 practice. Great guys there, i passed the test first time down to their good tuition.130 for the CBT like you said (btw there's no need for the guarente option!) and im sure all the DAS was in the region of 5 or 600 pounds? That was with bike hire and test fees etc etc. Quote
fredc Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I did my CBT at Harleys in springburn just before they shut down last summer On the last day they were openI was told that they were closing down the business Quote
