The time has come for me to remove my CB500's restriction (it feels long overdue - but hey).

I've successfully (word used loosely, it's taken me about 3 frustrating hours so far and i've lost a screw) managed to change the intake rubbers back to the originals, and am now looking to replace the original jets (the restrictor kit that came from Honda included #125 jets and so i'm putting the original #122's back in).

I can't remember where to put the little jets though, it's been a good little while since i originally watched the bike being restricted.

Can anyone tell me where they go - i'm thinking carburettors, but i'm sure i remember the engine top-cover being removed when i had it restricted and this doesn't tally with that (how to get to there would be useful too, but i can work that out if i know exactly where these jets go).

Hey, after a little googleage it sounds like just washers between the carbs and engine but sounds like there may be other restriction measures avaliable and is down to who restricted it.

To be honest though i have no idea how you would fir a restrictor in the top end on the engine :|

Best regards

The jets were definitely fitted on mine. Still can't work out where jets go though :/ Also having a pig of a time putting the clips for the intakes back on, have broken one of those too. Might just open up the carb and have a look for the little gold screws (jets, apparently)

As it may help others in future: I've managed to find the answer to my own question on the CB500 owner's club.

It appears that you flip the carbs over (i.e. at the bottom of the carbs) there is the jets (got to take the carbs apart first, of course). Which means i'm going to have more fun removing and refitting the engine manifolds again to get the carbs off

Jets, get the carb off, undo the screws holding the float bowl on. The jets screw in underneath it. You'll have to unscrew the old jets first. You not got a haynes manual?

EDIT: There are 2 carbs, do it to both
