HEEEEEEEEELLP :(

I'm tearing my hair out and any advice would be greatly appreciated...

I own a Daelim VJ 125. Now's where most people turn round and say huh? :? Not quite a Suzuki but it gets me around and it's a pretty good little bike for what i paid for it.

Anyway, i was riding down Badbury rings on a beautiful sunny day, absolutely fine no probs, came into Wimborne on my way home where it decided it didn't wanna play anymore and rolled me to a stop in the middle of lots of bemused car drivers. Refused point blank to start up again, and flushed my pretty day down the bog.

The engine turns over but won't start. Thought spark plug problem. Changed plug, nope.

Checked air filter? clean. Fuel blockage? None. Carburettor? Fine. Ignition coil? Put a new one in which did absolutely nothing. Tried starting it with and without the plug cap but the spark's the same - miniscule, yellow and barely jumping from one side to the other.

When i removed the spark plug there weren't any out of the ordinary deposits or wear on it, replaced that anyway. As i said i changed the coil and HD lead, tested the plug cap and all's ok there. I am really stuck now, i've done everything i can think of and it still just sits there and coughs at me.

The only thing i haven't tested is the CDI unit which i dont have the right equipment for, and i read somewhere that the exhaust could have disintergrated and blocked which could be causing it but it's only and 04 reg and i'm trying to eliminate the obvious before forking out on that sort of thing when its not the cause of the fault.

I've got plenty of fuel, fully charged battery, there's no kill switch to mess about with so nothing silly like that. It's probably something really small and obvious but i'm getting turned down by mechanics because they don't know the make and it's really getting to me - i need my bike to function it's my only method of transport.

Can ANYBODY think of anything?? I've been thinking about it so long i've probably missed out the obvious so i'm willing to try anything to get back on the road, missing out on the sunshine guys!! Please help :)

Cheers :D

check battery teminal connections, could be you have an open circuit (loose earth lead)

You've seem to of covered all the normal probs, Plugs, airfilter, fuel blocked, dead battery.

Is the battery fully charged since its broke down. Can you bump start it.

The only other thing i can think of off the top of my head is the Rectifier/regulator.

When mine went the bike wouldnt start until i'd completly recharged the battery or i could start it my bumping it but making sure the lights were off.

Keep us informed

The battery seems fine, fully charged, terminals are clean and well connected etc. It wont bump start either. The regulator/rectifier i believe is ok, don't you need a PVA tester for that? (My manuals all in American if that's not its usual name) Don't have one of those unfortunately... :(

Thanks again for trying, all ideas welcome :)

i had a daelim, they are ace and really easy to maintain but be careful cos the engines are made of glass, when tightening anything on the casings go careful lol

as for mechanics not touching it, yeh i had the same problem and ended up selling it and that took long enough lol
