Guest Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 ok guys after some advice here went to buy all my gear today and have hit an issue... tried on an Alpinestars 2 piece and had an issue with the trousers was loose on my calves and tight on my ar$e and because of that couldnt get them high enough and had loads of loose material round my crotch when in "the position". Now had a friend of mine with me and he suggested that a one piece probably would fit better but thought id ask for your thoughts and see if anyone else has had the same problem and any particular manufacturers that have looser theighs...Before you get the wrong idea im not a massive chap lol about 36" waist and 6 foot and the suit today was a 44...Many ThanksRich Quote
Guest Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 You may find that different bands have a different cut ... so you may have more luck with a different brand.I personally must be fairly germanic, cos most HG stuff fits me off the peg, however Dainese stuff never fits me right .... Quote
rennie Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 just keep looking/ trying on I've never been able to find leathers that fitand most of my textiles have been too big as well Quote
Ingah Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 just keep looking/ trying on I've never been able to find leathers that fitand most of my textiles have been too big as well Pretty much ditto. Bar my current textile jacket, which is annoyingly a little too short! (but otherwise excellent) Quote
Guest Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 thanks guys great advice but any1 know if any particular are bigger in the theighs and ar$e department than others? Quote
Guest philgale Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 why not look at custom made suit, dont think there much more than a decent alpinstar or similar suit....might be worth looking at Quote
Guest Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 ok well im looking at a budget of about £500-£600 trying to do the lot for £1000 but dont see it happening as yesterday i fell in love with a pair of Sidi Vertigos and a Shoei XR1100 which at £189 and £379 respectively doesnt leave me much budget left Quote
MWillow Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I tried loads of different brands before finding a set that fitted (Arlen Ness).Just keep trying them and you'll find a suitable set eventually i'm sure.P.s. The vertigos are a cracking boot Quote
2fast2soon Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I agree with philgale, have a look at some of the custom suits as it sounds like you may struggle with off the peg. Have a look at Halo Leathers or GiMoto. I've recently been told about a company in London call Arc-On that if you email them, may make pants/suit to measure for you?!? If you do go custom, please tell us how you get on as I'm sure you're not the only one in that position. I actually know someone who wants a Halo Oracle 2 piece. If there are a few people who want to go down this path, you might all be able to club together and get a good discount!!! This might bring it right into you price range for perfect fit leathers. To partially answer your original question, I find my Alpinestars pants are roughly similar to the Dainese suit I tried on for fit in the leg, whereas the Spidi 1 piece I've just bought has a quite narrow calf. This might mean you could go up one in waist size in Spidi pants without having to wear padding round your legs. As everyone has said though, trying on is the only way you'll find out. And if the clothing is anything like the helmet companies, sizes vary between models from one manufacturer!?! Quote
