Guest Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 ive got my mod 2 in a few weeks and im wondering when do i do the life savers. is it both shoulders when moving off? or just the direction im pulling out to. thanks Quote
Aaron Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 I'd hazard a guess that it can vary depending on who's training/testing you. However, when pulling away from the kerb, then obviously only look to your right. If you're turning, then look that way. If you're going straight over, then check which ever side has the other lane (assuming there is one, like on a roundabout).Chuck in a lifesaver when lanes merge into yours, etc, to make sure noone is squeezing into your space and running you off the road. Danny-B- Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 From a stationary position ... ie sitting at traffic lights etc its both shoulders before you move.As you did in the mod 1 ... check both everytime you set off from a stand still Quote

I think (at least where i did my training/test) that they don't really want both sides. But at the very worst you'll a get a minor or something for it. The examiner would be a nasty guy for even bothering i think.I kept getting told off for doing 2, but it wasnt even because i got confused. I wasn't used to the restricted peripheral vision and i wanted to see everywhere! So i did 2 anyway alot of the time. Quote
Lumor_uk Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Cheers I always wondered this, as if you look both ways the gap in the traffic will have gone Quote
alol74 Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Cheers I always wondered this, as if you look both ways the gap in the traffic will have gone totally, but they say that if you don't check then some numpty may go and collide with you... but I think if there are numpties there, shouldn't I just give up motorcycling completely ?
