lau Posted May 27, 2010 Share Posted May 27, 2010 Hey Ive got a CBR 600 F (2002) - only 18k on the clock.I've been trying to get to the bottom of a starting issue i have with the bike when its warm. I posted on another forum last week but every logical suggestion they've had hasnt fixed it so wondered if there was any other ideas.I can bump start it no probs but if I do a few short journeys it wont fire up again, its almost like the battery is flat (its a new battery). - tested, charging perectly. Its not discharging at all as when its struggles to start after a few short journeys ive tested it and its always been fully charged. I went through and cleaned all wire connections and replaced starter relay as it was pretty corroded anyway but didn’t make any difference, new starter motor, checked ground etc.The dash also resets when it struggles to fire and drops to around 6v when starting when warm, from cold its at 13.2.Someone suggested it could be the crank sensor, would this be worth looking at? If memory serves, if that fails, thats it ... it won't start, full stop.My gut keeps telling me this is a battery/charging related problem... lau Posted May 28, 2010 Author Share Posted May 28, 2010 It was a suggestion from a guy that works for Honda.I'm popping to get the battery tested in about an hour at the place i got it just in case.Yep its got an auto choke.When i replaced the starter it was covered in carbon, another suggestion was to look at the starter clutch?
