Guest Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Well, i've been looking around the net for some decent headphones i can use in my helmet, started looking for some like those hearing aids, you know where it fites in your ear, and is flat on the outside? So putting your helmet on wouldn't push it out...Actually found some!!! But for a pretty ridiculous price :/£170!!!Anyways, if any of you are pretty rich, or REALLY want something good... here ya go!themp3company.co.uk/product/custom-made-earphones-custom-moulded-motorbike-ear-plugs-with-built-in-earphones-duocom.php Quote
TC Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I'm pretty sure there was someone on here last summer that got some D.I.Y. ones. You get enough rubber stuff to make 3. 1st one to practice and then make 2 for use.Well, i think they made them and put some i-pod speakers in before the mould set. Quote
Guest Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 I always struggled finding some that didn't hurt when wearing with ya lid! In the end i got like a pad that velcros to the inside of me lid! Don't even know its there! Quote
Guest Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Well, i still feel those pads pretty bad :/ They have a fairly big speaker in them, sharp edges e.t.c.. TC, any info on those DIY ones, please do let me know xD Quote

2fast2soon Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Hi Simon, I don't think those earplugs are what Cobbz is after, sounds like he wants to listen to music rather than just block out wind noise. Can't see why people want those DIY ear plugs, the NRR is 26 whereas a decent set of disposables are up around 33. Maybe I'm lucky and the disposables I have fit my ears well?!? Moldex Sparkplugs if anyone are after a decent set, I've tried a few and they are the best so far.And for all those not wearing ear plugs when riding, that ringing in your ears isn't normal or healthy, unless of course its just the phone Quote
Guest Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Hi Simon, I don't think those earplugs are what Cobbz is after, sounds like he wants to listen to music rather than just block out wind noise.if you read the original thread, the OP fitted earphones into custom moulded earplugs, isn't that what Cobbz is after? Well bought some and they were delivered today. I have moulded them and stuck them in my ears with an old pair of IPOD Headphones squiged in there...They are currently still in my ears as they need 15 - 20 minutes to dry.I can hear next to nothing. I have had to turn the TV up to 3 times the normal volume and I still can only just hear it. Quote
2fast2soon Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 whoops, my bad, only read the link to the product. Quote
Guest Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Cobbz, after much nagging from phatdad, I tried my flat speaker things under my helmets lining. Works a treat Quote
techno Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 cobbz akey made some diy earplugs and added earphones to them i believe drop him a pm! Quote
Decor58 Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 There was someone at BMF tailend show last year who was selling these things, was something like £110 for the earplugs and £135 if you wanted a headphone fitting in it.Their 'selling point' was that it has some special material in it that only allows you to hear voices through it Quote
