CBT booked, loan agreed today, so i can buy my bike. Now i need your help with helmet please!

I want a full face helmet that is both quality and well priced. Max of about £130ish

I've looked at the shark s600 which looks the part but how good is it? Web reviews aren't all that decisive and i'm happy to have a look at what is suggested.

Graphics are also important, The wife suggests that silver/grey and black looks sexy (Probably not on me though!)

Therefore with the shark, something along the lines of the 'dark knight' model would be a good starting point.

Thanks in advance

I'd save some money and buy a Box helmet if i were you... Cheap helmets, pretty much all come with pinlock ready visors (that keep your visor from fogging up) removeable liners, and some pretty cool graphics!

Whats the difference between a full face and box?

I don't want to sacrifice quality.... I like my pretty face!!!

Your best bet would be to pop into your local mototcycle shop and try on helmets, yeh its all good looking at a nice helmet with its lovely graphics but it might not fit your head as it should because all heads and helmets are different :)

you dont even have to buy one there either, i went to one near me tried on some helmets and bought the one i wanted and fit best off the internet and saved lots of ££££££ but some people here might not agree on internet buys as to you dont know if they get damaged in transport but my theory is that it got delivered to the shop like that so it could have been damaged there anyway! and god knows if the saterday boy has dropped your box and not told the boss!? so you see what im getting at :D

Hey ian.

First, have you looked here? http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... 32&t=15767

Also todays MCN has a guide on helmets, worth buying it just for that.

Fit is key with a helmet. And if you have never dealt with one before, like Nat suggests, get to a dealer, they should have staff trained to help you choose the correct lid for ya bonce :thumb:

Thanks all, but still dwelling on an earlier post, box helmets are a lot cheaper than full face. I don't know what the difference is. What are your imressions?

Although dark helmets look a bit mean and moody, I prefer to go with something thats light, bright and stands out. My current helmet is mainly white with a bit of black graphic (Arai Chaser Samurai). There are even fluoro ones but thats a step too far for me, however I would go with bright orange if I could find a decent one with a good fit.

Anyway, something to think about, maybe go for something bright that stands out which then adds to you visibility... or just go for the dark one that makes you look like a bad mother f***** :D

It's a helmet and all about the fit and protecting your head - go into a shop and try them on.

+1.

The fit is by far the most critical factor as to how well it protects your head. I know that i have tried on 20/30+ helmets and the only one that fits me properly is the HJC CL-ST (now discontinued  )

The information about the Helmet is really nice . It is necessary because a helmet is a form of protective equipment on their heads to protect them from injury, a variant of the hat. helmets or symbolic ceremony.
