skikman Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 hi i got a non running sym 50 and got it going[just needed a coil]everything was running sweet until i painted the exhaust, forks, and stands.once i put it back together it started then stopped .i havnt got it going again. now i didnt take the stands off i just lay the bike down on its sides to paint them.this made me think that i must have picked up dirt in the fuel,so i took off the carb and cleaned and blew out jets.[they were already spotless].checked that fuel was getting to it everything seems to be ok.still wont start just get the odd wee fire. anyone got any ideas Quote
rennie Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 if you laid the bike on it's side fuel will havegot into all sorts of places it shouldn't have!I'd dry the spark plug and make sure the airfilter isn't full of petrol to start with Quote
supersapien Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 check to make sure all the inlet manifolds are good. if they're rubber, the weight of the carb could have stretched them Quote
