mealexme Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 My centre stand spring is bent (the pin holding the centre stand went through it a while ago, im just getting round to fixing it) How do i go about reshaping it? bear in mind the hottest thing i can get my hands on is my kettle, so please dont advise getting it before 500 degrees before re-shaping it, cuz it aint gunna happen. The other option is getting a new one, but i think i would have to buy a brand new centre stand aswell, and as i am saving up for a new bike, every penny in my savings counts.Any advise on re-shaping? is it easy to do? Toolwise i have whatever there is in the toolbox (molegrips, pliars, hammers etc)Thanks. Quote
Guest Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 you should be able to fix it with a pair of mole grips. Quote
blakeatron Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Yep just carefully bend it back with a couple of pairs of pliers!Be careful and gauge the tension, if it suddenly gets easier stop as it will break soon after. Also remember that if it has bent once it will bend again. Quote
