GSX750F been stood for 5 years

I've been trying to get my GSX750F running after being stood for 5 years. The carbs have been cleaned including the jets. All floats free and set about the same height. All cylinders sparking fine but it will only run on 3 cyls with the 4th occasionally. I've swapped the float from one of the working cylinders to the one not working and this made no difference. The diaphragms look ok to me. It revs with a poor response. With the airbox off the carb slides (plastic slides with needle attached) move erratically when revved, I would have thought this should be a smooth operation. Any ideas please???

Thanks for the reply. I've already cleaned the slides but the diaphragms do seem a bit saggy. If the diaphragms are shot what would this cause?

Sorry for probably stating the obvious, but on the off-chance this helps... you have changed the 5+ year old spark plugs anyway, right?

If you haven't and don't want to waste any cash yet, (again probably obvious stuff) i'd try swapping them around (rather than replacing them) to see if the problem follows the plug

I second the recommendation for NRP. Anything's better than OE prices!
