HELP with electrical problem NEEDED

Recommended Posts

hi there eveyone,

i ride a suzuki gs 125 ESM 1991 and its a really nice bike to ride except i have a frustrating problem

when i ride with the headlights on it all ok , but as soon as i flick the full beams on it seems like it starts to take power from the battery and not power generated. (if that makes sense)

i am not good with electrics but if someone could point out where abouts the problem maybe i do have a haynes manual.

cheers everyone

not quite sure what the problem is though, is taking power from the battery a prob or is it causing one?

using the lights draws more current from the battery or engine and hence you might, on smaller engine bikes notice a change in the overall feel of the bike, nothing to worry about though

Hope this helps

yeah i know that they use power from the battery but if i ride liets say 6 minles or so using full beam and then kell the bike and try restarting it then i have no power to turn it over, and this is a problem as i have no kickstart (not fitted on bike)

im nt sure weather its the light wired wrong or summat wrong with the trickle charge.

am i right in saying the trickle charge is run from alternator? or is it from the power generator?

HAhah WF !

Ya ant just assume the guys blinding everyone on purpose !

are you simply starting the bike, running on full beam, then turning the engine off ? if so ... the bike doesnt have enough time to put enough energy back into the battery to keep it topped up from the energy its used starting the engine in the first place, so its bound to get low.

It may be something else, tbh, but it usually takes a good 15 mins to replace the power used to start the bike
