fullscreenaging Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 If you stuff it at the RHRS then you have nothing to pay. They just won't let you back on track. I did it a few years ago. Great morning out! It's ideal for the first time on track without fear of damaging your own bike. Quote
Guest Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 you know what, your only likely to crash on track if you push your limits same as on the road. if you know your limits and just enjoy the fact there are no speed cameras around you will be fine.no need to go out setting lap records unless your happy crashing Yeah but they reason I want to go on track is so I can push my limits harder than I can on the road, with out worrying about others/road furniture/speed limits EDIT: Not that I would do that when on a lesson...Note to self: Get track bike. Guest philgale Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 still got the sv aint you chris? they make cracking little track bikes....why not look into taking out track insurance, its not that expensive and may cover the bike as well as loss of wages etc Quote
nman1 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 May well be up for this, I like the bit about not using your own bike. surely people should like the idea of using there own bike for what it was actually made for....i wouldnt like to use someone elses bike, i like spanking my own. even tempted to take the bandit out for at least 1 session of a track day....may do it next summer. and ill make sure i go out with full luggage on I do see your point there Phil, but I`m shit scared of damaging my baby now, especially after finding out what a verry minor off cost the insurance company. You are still right though so I`d have to get over it and use mine. At least then I`ll know what I can do on it on the road. Quote
Guest Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 *sigh* I need a bike for commuting. Another for posing. And another for tracking. I wonder if there's much of a market for male prostitutes in east anglia.... lol no there isnt much of a market for male prostitutes... lol and my partner has a commuting bike, he did have a posing bike which he sold and now wants to buy a new one and he has a track bike.... as well as 2 C90's and my bike,,, its just about building your collection as and when you can,,,, (and ebay for cheap bargains and knowing how to fix them yourself) so no need to prostitute yourself... unless you really want to Quote
Guest Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 still got the sv aint you chris? they make cracking little track bikes....why not look into taking out track insurance, its not that expensive and may cover the bike as well as loss of wages etc Lol no I don't anymore, but due to me recently getting a full time job now means I'm going to have plenty of expendable income, so 2011 is looking good to start up track riding. My only worry being this restriction thing, but I think you've said before about getting an ACU license? Sorry hi-jacking the thread a bit here lol. Quote
Guest philgale Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 just ring the TDO your booking with and tell them you got a restricted one and if that matters....most tracks dont check anyway, just MSV ones. or get an ACU and get into racing as well....im doing that next year Quote

Guest philgale Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 restriction doesnt matter on track mate, i been on track with 13 year old kits at rockingham, bet thats not too far from you, not a million miles from slippystone. Quote
Guest Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Checked Silverstone's website, can't find anything to do with trackdays, I assume they do? Both are about 1:30 away from me.Cheers btw for ya input lol. Quote
mattyb Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Have a look on some of the track day organisers rather than direct on the circuit site:http://www.nolimitstrackdays.com/http://www.hottrax.co.uk/http://www.easytrack.co.uk/http://www.focusedevents.com/Prob some more I've missed.FE are doing Silverstone soon, there may not be many left this year as the TDOs seem to be winding down a bit for winter.
