stevie16v
Received what i was told was a set of carbs from a 96 bike, but it appears to be an early 97 with a different choke set-up (as per parts fiche)Is there anyway i can fit these to my 94 bike or is it too much hassle?cheers
eastanglianbiker
what is the differences between them they will fit the same at worst it will be choke set up thats different
stevie16v
The throttle position sensor is on the o/s of it as opposed to the rear and is a different type. The newer one has a push choke as opposed to a pull choke aswell
eastanglianbiker
if the throttle position sensor will still work even tho its in a different place the way the choke works will make no difference to you if you can put choke on and take it off ok there shouldnt be a problem using them
stevie16v
I'll have a wee look again tomorrow but it seemed to be a completely different setup. The tps was of a different type aswell so would need to get a new one etc. Prob end up costing more than it's worth
eastanglianbiker
ah right if totally different i assume your one cant be mounted on the new set then?
stevie16v
Nah def not. The old one screws into the rear of carb 4 Whereas the new one appears to just slide/clip onto the side. Was looking forward to putting it back together tomorrow and hearing it running properly for the first time! I'll do a bodge job on the old ones until i get new ones, isn't going on the road anytime soon anyway
