Stu Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 it wont fail on not stating on the button peds are known for not starting on the button in the cold hence the kick start does it work ok on the starter once been on a run ? Quote
Guest Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 No it wont i tried several times today after kicking it then riding for a while - i even rode it maxed out for a while to see if that would do anything but it wouldnt "/ Quote
argentum40 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 is the starter actually engagin properly as no reason why it should not start off the starter if it kicks first time... Quote
Guest Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Im not sure what you mean by that sorry - im not much good with vehicles lolwell when i press the button to start the bike it makes the noise like the battery engaging but then it doesnt fire upit just keeps making the same noisebut when i kick it fires up first time so i have no idea. argentum40 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 well when you press the strter does it sound like the engine is turning over?... from what you describe its as if the starter is not engaging properly and therefore not actually spinning the engine over , i had that on my Elyseo 100 and it was the starter which was knackered... replaced it and off she went.. Guest Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 yeah thats basically whats happeneing, i cannot understand how it would suddenly break though the bikes in great condition - and worked perfectly b4 i put it away then last time "/ Quote
argentum40 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 well mine stopped running properly when i laid it up because of the snow and yet it ran perfectly before the snow arrived... the starters are fairly small and easy enough to change however if you are not confident doing it yourself get a mechanic to do it for you... you can check to see if the starter is knacered by taking out the spark plug, then plug the spark plug back into the plug cap and rest it on the engine or somewhere else metallic... then press the starter and see if the plug is sparking.. if it is then the engine is turning over and if not then its not... also you will here the piston going up and down with the plug out Quote
