bullet5 Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Just a question... Every time I take out my trials bike I have a large hill to climb/decend and a dirt track (normaly mud) about 1 mile long, between our garage and main road I have to ride along. Now when accending and driving through the mud I stand on the pegs as I can control the bike better from that position rather than sitting on the saddle. However this means that I can't opperate the rear brake as it is in a position only suited for use when your sitting. Is there a way of connecting the front brake lever to the rear disk brake, so when it is pulled the front & rear are applied together It would be a real help, as when accending the hill, if I need to stop, I can apply the front brake however this has little grip on the dirt and/or mud and the bike slides backwards helplessly. I've nearly dropped the bike 2'ce because of this. Hope you get what i'm pointing at.Any input welcome. Thankyou. Quote
Fozzie Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 http://www.superbike.co.uk/imageBank/s/Speedycom.jpgYou need a thumb brake connected to the rear brake. They are very very expensive though so I would only get one if you are going to have the bike for a long time and are going to use it often.Though I can use the rear brake ok when I stand on the pegs on some of my previous bikes. Its difficult yes but you get used to it. Just keep practising and find a good system would be my advise of choice for you. Quote
bullet5 Posted January 8, 2011 Author Posted January 8, 2011 oooo that looks great fozzie ... until i searched for item prices. eek. think ill have to just live with it then, but or example when we had the snow i had both feet on the floor balancing the bike while sliding down my back lane's hill (bloomin scary) :/ I couldnt use the front brake because it would have slid out completly. so after about a minute of sliding i got the bike into a position i could activate back brake. one would come in very hand... have to save my pennies :/ thankyou fozzie Quote
