Guest Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Hi everyone. My bike was recently stolen by local idiots and trashed. The police found the bike but it's in a poor state with anything easy to smash or break gone. I'm happy enough buying spares and fixing it up (just like mechano) but I’m worried the engine has been abused. The bike itself is a Chinese WUYANG 125 16c and has served me well despite being a cheaper copy of a Honda CG.Just before Christmas it managed a trip from Bristol, through wales, up the west coast of Ireland, into Scotland, south through Dumfries-Lake district-Peak district-Snowdon then back to BristolMy main concern is that when I start it:1) The engine idles faster than usual2) White smoke comes out the exhaust after about 30 seconds running (worse when revs increased)I can't afford to scrap this bike and get a new one but can get new parts and repair as necessary myself. I'm leaving the country in 6 months so just need it road legal (not pretty) to get me moving again.Any help would be great,Thanks in advancetravelduck Quote
skatefreak Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Hey,Sorry to hear about the t*ats stealing yr bike... Hope they lost a limb...Anywho, I'd say it sounds like your burning oil but for a more comprehensive answer : #4. White smoke from exhaustThis happen when your engine oil gets into the combustion chamber. The problem might be at this part:i. Piston ring is looseii. Piston is worn outiii. Engine block is worn out/scratchediv. Valve is worn out/damagedv. Valve line is worn out/scratchedSolution:i. Replace piston ringii. Rebore block and replace pistoniii. same with no. iiiv. Replace valvev. Rebore valve line and replace valve.Sometimes white smoke can also occur in the morning or you start your bike after it is being left on the rain. The white smoke is the water vapour released from the condensation that happens inside your exhaust. Normally, this happens only for few minutes and then it will be back to colourless again. The difference from white water vapour smoke and white exhaust smoke is the smell. What I can say is, the smell from engine oil being burnt is your combustion chamber is bad and very busuk. Water vapour doesn’t have any smell.SourceTo be fair, to do the rings or valves yrself may not to bad but reboring the block could be a little more costly and such Best regards-Jvr Quote
whitedevil Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Sorry to hear about your bike mate, the t!ts probably left the bike laying on its side which means you probably have all the fluids mixed together. Id start by draining the fuel out, changing the oil and changing the coolant if its water cooled. Quote
