So I've a lock for the rear wheel, was going to get a throttle lock for the front, but there expensive! What with all the expense I've got at the minute, Need to keep it down.

so does anyone know what the 'resonable' priced disc locks are that are recognised by insurance companies.

Was thinking something in the style of http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KRaLL-KS120-MOTORCYCLE-DISC-LOCK-/390261402222?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5add646a6e so I don't burn me dannies! :D

I don't think that would be recognised by the insurance company.

You need something that is 'Thatcham Approved' but obviously they are much more expensive :(

Other than acting as a deterrent/stopping your bike being nicked (which is pretty damn important), don't assume you'll save much money on your insurance premium. When I insured my new bike, I asked how much I'd save if I had a Thatcham approved alarm fitted by the dealer. The answer, "nothing!".

Still worth spending a few quid for peace of mind.

I just leave mine in the front garden and do my best to disguise it.

Cheers boothy! :D

Your welcome, don't really know how it works but I guess it sensors vibrations and an alarm sounds?

A lot won't offer you a saving for it, but quite a few companies make it a condition of your policy that it has a thatcham approved lock on it.

Avoid any security from the oxford brand. Their chains can be cut in seconds, and their locks are worse than useless. Have a look at the vid

A good tip, is to use a disc lock on the rear wheel aswell, it prevents two guys lifting the front wheel of the ground, and then pushing it to the van on the rear wheel.
