Guest Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 So as the title says this is about a Morris Minor restoration. The deal is my grandad has had his old Morris Minor sitting his garage for probably 10+ years I'm not too sure and he's always been saying he wants to get rid of it. Well this summer is when he does that. Me and him are planning on doing it up and selling it so he has more room in his garage and we also want to get a project bike to work on together. My question to you mechanically minded people is:What would have to be done to get it road worthy? My grandad is very good with car mechanics so he would probably know himself but I thought I'd get a head start and ask you lot if you have any ideas.Any advice or anything would be really helpful and also if anyone knows any website or places we could get parts for it that would be great. I don't know the year or model yet haha I'm finding out this week but if anyone has done anything like this before any advice is helpful Many Thanks,MichaelEDIT: Just realised this should probably be in the Pitstop section so if a mod could move it that'd be great Quote
cruz Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Charlie Ware, the main man worldwide would be your man.Even making new parts for them.http://www.morris-minor.co.uk/ Quote

Martyc Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Weld, weld, weld and weld. Engine rebuild, the a series are tough as old boots but not the most long lived engine, so I'd say a least a good hone, set of rings and shells. Basically i think everything will need an overhaul. Good news is all the parts are really easy to find comparatively, its the English beetle and really well loved and supported. Quote
