Guest Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 RTFM!may even be on a sticker on the chain cover or something.. . Quote
bullet5 Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Some recommend (F/R) 33/36 and a few others recommend 36 Front 42 Rear if your carrying heavier loads. Your manual should state the correct pressures, or failing that have a look on your tyre walls. The exact PSI depends on what rubber your using, however put in the figures your most certian with, then experiment taking them up/down maybe 2psi, and test it, to see how it feels. PSI levels are a personaly choice, (as well as slightly depending on your tyres)Good Luck.Bullet5. Quote

mealexme Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 (edited) As stated above, for recommended psi, look on the tire wall which may be in BAR. here is a conversion calculator http://www.convertunits.com/from/psi/to/barEDIT: according to a yam forum, the manula states "36 Front 42 rear" Edited March 19, 2011 by mealexme Quote
Guest Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Contrary to popular opinion, running pressures are not stated on the tyre wall. The correct running pressures will be found in your manual.I run mine at 36F 42R. Different bike though. But when I spent too many years fitting tyres and other associated crap, all bikes went out with these pressures. Customers informed, disclaimers given etc. Quote
mealexme Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Contrary to popular opinion, running pressures are not stated on the tyre wall. So what is the thing that says xyzBAR/xyzPSI on the tyre wall for?fyi, thats not a smart arse question, i was just wandering Quote
Guest Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Its maximum pressures on the tyre wall, NOT the recommended tyre pressure. What i ment was, if you look in the place say chain cover etc you may find a sticker with the pressures on (and chain slack etc sometimes too) Quote
mealexme Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Maximum pressures Alex.oh lol, i should have probably known that. Fair enough. Quote

Boothy Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 So have I been misinformed by bullet and it is not actually personal preference? Quote
bullet5 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Definately 33 / 36 thanks Bullet No problem revscasa. Don't go blowing your tyres! And what do you mean booth? I was under the impression that the pressures on the tyre wall were the recommended pressures not the max. (I appoligise for the confusion) Bullet5. Quote
