its a 1999 r6 fitted with meta alam system replaced main unit once allready now gone again. ive looked at wiring but its out of my league 2 remove .

thinking may be easier 2 replace loom ?

Posted

it will be safer to replace loom

most alarms have just a few points in the wiring loom where they connect

they will have power obviously. and atleast two immobilisation circuits which will be four wires as it breaks a circuit then goes through the alarm then back to the loom further along and makes the circuit again you you get that :?

Be easier and cheaper to replace bike lol

Dont need a new loom, go find a nice local vehicle electrition, I got my meta alarm removed buy a guy down south for £45 incl VAT.

Mine also locked up so I couldnt start the bike, got it recovered to a place called AVSCO who removed the alarm professionally. Never had any problems since and it certainly cheaper than a new box!

only got the 1 button

time it came out pile crap

just trace the wires back from the alarm, you'll find four of the wires go back to wires that are only two colours. join the same colour wires together & just cut the rest. sorted.

Posted

that all depends on how deep tey went into the loom if they've just tapped into it then its a diddle but if they done it properly then its not so much of a diddle

I'm electrician and managed to disable mine but i couldn't begin to tell you how to do it, sorry. Before I gave up and disabled it I found the datatool help line to be quite helpful but they won't tell you how to disable it.

If it goes weeeeooor weeeeooor etc I'll buy and fit it to mine
