Guest Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Hi, hope this is the correct bit of the forum (new here).I have a Kawasaki GPZ500s (just got it yesterday) it is quite greasy, built up over a while i think. I am cleaning the controls using water and cloth but the rest of the bike needs a bit more. what are peoples tips on cleaning, wheels, engine bay etc, I have looked at a lot of different tips online, some say a jet wash is OK others say not even a light spray!!Thanks Quote

chiz Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 S Doc 100 is good stuff too, it's not the cheapest though, so it's best kept for deep cleaning. Quote

cyberwolf Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 wd40 works wonders ono wheels and that, also leaves a coating so dirt just comes off with a hose but if you going to spray it onto the wheels cover the discs so you wont get any on them or spary onto rag and wipe on Quote
Throttled Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Liquid Swarfega available from B&Q and the likes. I use my old Muck Off sprayer and fill it now with the cheaper Swarfega. http://lh4.googleusercontent.com/public/SKiwLJxm7MClCrF4LIFaK8-x16DM-WcZ5WyQW5eenXV6JwXnn_afFPtrhx0SbsoJxgjSjH83FC45pLiXo2AQOlqLRSvosMkxkMvTY7OMeEJN-q3S771xhGJZAeEoe80fhm44HATtJEPb4HUClZfv3-jLzuNaTRUPlxKISpray on, if needed aggitate with a dish brush or similar, don't let the swarfega dry and then I wash off with a hose. Buckets of water thrown at the bike would work as well. If you use a pressure washer stand well back. Quote
