gulp. went out for my first two hour lesson on a 500 yesterday, did the usual circuit training, cones, u turns and so on and 30 mins road riding. loved it, so much easier than on the 125. got back home and instructor rang to say i could do mod 1 on Monday if i was ok with it. he feels i'm ready. now i'm bricking it,lmao.

great thing is i'm spending Sunday morning at the test center going through as many run as as i can in 2 hours.

thanks guys. i feel a bit better now, thinking of my new bike after i pass mod 2,lmao. been practicing on 125, but not the same, i actually think it is harder than on the 500. what are your thoughts.

off to do a few hours round the test circuit. it's absolutely pissing down and gale force winds, so if i can manage today then tomorrow should be fine.

will be either all smiles tomorrow or you may not hear from me for a while. can't type while drowning sorrows.lmao

How did it go? I had 3.5 hours training today in gale force winds, I reckon if I can do without falling over then I must be ok if it's less windy  . Lucky for me it didn't rain as well!

Good luck to both of you.

If I had one tip, it would be to go as wide as you want on the figure of eight, which will give you more turning space.

The examiner said I went so wide, he wasn't sure if I was ever going to turn - but what I did was perfectly ok, and I passed Mod 1 first time :-)

All the best!

Good luck guys, sure you'll be fine.

Take your time, and do all your checks before you do anything. Eg: When I did my DAS, we went to the test centre to observe for a while and one guy on Mod1 rode into the gated compound with the stand down - instant fail!! He did everything else perfectly!

well, i did two hours on the test circuit yesterday, my speed riding is 100% 53kmp for both emergency stop and swerve, no problems at all. but my slow riding is a problem as i have problems with the throttle/clutch control. i always feel the bike either wants to tip over or stall.

anyway, went back to the training center for more practice and hey presto i got it. just need to remember to breath while i'm on my test lmao.

my instructor says there may be a mod 2 slot on Friday if all goes well today.

well, mother nature beat us again. mod 1 cancelled due to high winds and driving rain :crybaby: . possibility i may get to do it tomorrow, but i need to wait until the test center can verify who was due to take it. two slots booked, but no names in them, so one might be given to me. fingers crossed.

Oh no, what a bugger :( , the winds have been horrendous here too (still are) - I was going to practise at home but it was too windy for that! I'm hoping it will die down soon, fingers crossed you won't have to wait too long. I'm also keeping fingers crossed they won't cancel mine too!
