steve s Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 hi all ,OK my question.pass mod 1 and 2 on a 125 motorbike and you can ride up to a 33bhp bikepass on a 500cc bike and you can ride anything.but what about scooters ?.if you pass your mod 1 and 2 on a 125 scooter does that entitle you to ride up to a 33bhp scooter, and if you wanted to ride a Suzuki Bergman 650 would you need to pass on a 500cc scooter. Guest Hodgy Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Sorry I don't know the answer, try looking on here, it's the official government website so it should have the answerhttp://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Le ... /index.htm Quote
Capitano Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 It works exactly the same way as the manual bike licenses as regards capacities, power restrictions etc.The difference is that pass Mod 1 and Mod 2 on an automatic bike or scooter and your full licence only covers you for automatics. To ride a 650 Burgman you'd have to do DAS or do your 2 year probation on a sub 33 bhp scooter. steve s Posted May 22, 2011 Author Posted May 22, 2011 thanks hodgy n capitano.i was looking at a scooter as if it were a different animal than a bike ,the only difference is automatic n manual .no different than doing your car test in an auto or manual . Quote

steve s Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 thats ok Fred, i was treating bikes and scooters as different machines rather than just auto / manual.I'm a silly sod . Quote
Capitano Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 The 400 Burgman is 33 bhp, as is the Yamaha Majesty 400 and the Piaggio Xevo 400. Quote
