Throttled Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Here is a superb biker road, running from Crieff to the Pool of Muckhart. You go through Glen Eagles and past the famous hotel and through the gold course and then dive down into Glen Devon. The raod surface is great and the twist and turns make for a very entertaining run. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sourc ... =UTF8&z=10http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/3_25/3_25_1.JPG Quote
byangoma Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Hey, i live literally 2 minutes away from the hotel, and i agree it is a fantastic road to drive, even on my 125, just got to watch out for the occasional sheep through glendevon! I normally use this road when i drive to and from edinburgh. If you head further than Crieff there is another good road that goes to comrie, through lochearn head and to the green wellie store, which i'm sure many people on the forum will know. From here you can do the amazing drive to Fort william through Glen Coe. Quote
Throttled Posted September 25, 2011 Author Posted September 25, 2011 A mate lives in Dollar and I often stay over. A couple of weeks ago I returned that way after doing the Cairngorm loop. Quote
gordon276 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 try the b827 from comrie south joins the a822 just north of braco great wee road. Quote
Silverspring Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 I took part of this road to Perth on Saturday (to avoid the monotony of the motorway) went from Muckhart to Gleneagles then jumped on the A9 which was pretty much as boring as the motorway! As Throttled has said it's a great road, could get some really good speeds up on it and plenty of fun corners. Most importantly it's really quite clean too (which so many roads in Scotland are not at the moment) so you're not coming round a corner to come face to face with a huge pile of gravel on the road will definitely be using this road again. Throttled Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 I hate the A9, but it leads to so many good roads. Quote
