Lumor_uk Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Anyone recommend one? My bet looks like the BMW Summer storm hood on ebay at the moment. Currently using a wind stopper one which is great for when it's cold but getting hot under the lid lately.I find it easier to wash the balaclava than my helmet inners, plus I look freaking scary when no one can see my face oh and it stops my flappy ears getting folded down Quote
TC Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I use a lightweight Oxford one.Like you say its alot easier to throw in the washing machine than your helmet Plus it help to my ear plugs in Quote
Colin the Bear Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... prod/16322Google silk balacalava. Handy if you have long hair too.(I seem to vaguely remember ) Quote
Lumor_uk Posted June 3, 2011 Author Posted June 3, 2011 Silk brings up 1980's look in my head I want hi tech material like a base layer Quote
Colin the Bear Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 No man made fibre can rival silk. Warm in winter, cool in summer, light and hard wearing. A better wicking fibre than anything man made. Expensive is all. I have silk undergloves and a silk scarf. It hasn't been around for 4,000 years cos it's crap. Try it and you won't go back. Quote
Korben Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 oh and it stops my flappy ears getting folded down Suffer with a similar problem. My ears rub on the inside of my lid...For summer I have one of these.http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... prod/32126Bit priccey for what you get but a lot cooler in the hot weather than any balaclava.
