karlfroggaty Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 when i am braking, i hear a click from the brakes or forks area,at the front, recently had new fork seals, and i can only drive on full choke, any advice fellow biker's? SAFE RIDING! Quote
mealexme Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 clickity click with every trip. isnt that the seatbelt thing?Anyway, i havnt a clue about machanics, but the first thing i would do is check the break pads. Does it judder when breaking too? and how often does it click whilst breaking? a lot, like once every time the wheel turns, or just once, say when the forks compress? Also does it click if you are stopped with the breaks on and put pressure on the front end? (compressing the forks)? Quote
Tango Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Hmmmm....not too much info here (Bike, etc) but as above just go round the front end and see if anything is loose. Is the front brake binding? Is your Speedo cable connected correctly? Does the speedo needle fluctuate while riding? Does the click only happen when you brake or accelerate? If you lift the front wheel off the ground and spin it does it click then?If you can give us a bit more info we may be able to narrow things down or suggest where to look.Cheers,Bob Quote
karlfroggaty Posted June 12, 2011 Author Posted June 12, 2011 sorry for the lack of info, its honda CG125 when i break and release, i think its when the forks bounce back up, but because i am on the bike, its hard to locate, there is no visable obstruction anywhere,SAFE RIDING Quote

Put it on the centre stand, get infront of it and push down. Just so you can get a better idea of where its coming from. Quote
Tango Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Try and get the front wheel off the ground and check Head Bearings, wheel bearings, etc. Also check that it's not just a brake or speedo cable moving through their guides or something like that. I'm not familiar with the specifics of the CG125....but just go round the forks and head assy's and make sure all bolts/screws are tightened to the correct torque. It's not unusual after work has been carried out on the bike for bolts/screws to loosen off or need further tightening after a few runs.Good luck,Bob Quote
