I've been shopping around for some boots,

and these seem to be hitting the top of my list atm...

sadly i camnt afford the goretex one.. £200+ is abit over budget... so im thinking of getting the non-waterproof ones... however they say they are airtech... this is great for warm weather but will my feet get cold when the wonderous british winter hits... i will use these everyday for commuting so its quite important...

anyone have any inside info on the matter?

thnx

what? lol

I have BULLSON MANX BOOTS from hein geriecke, just over £100, waterproof, good in winter and summer, although if you stand around in them in the summer for too long, you'r feet do get a bit warm, but on the bike they are fine. Also have oil and petrol resistant rubber sole and solid toe caps. Although they dont have much ankle protection.

That the sort of thing you are after? Much cheaper than £200

I got the TCX Infinity boots, best boots I ever owned. Don't even need extra socks in winter... brill!

Probably don't help you much ..

I had no intention of spending the £200 - the pair im looking at are going for £105 (£80 off - cant complain there)

and given they have all the ankle protection jazz etc i thought they might be a good idea... saw a pair in real, and they are not as garish as the photo makes out, so not to in your face when i walk into the office. at least i hope not...

not sure why the skepticism from you guys? I'm not knowledgeable in this so if i could be enlightened as to why this is a stupid buy it would be helpful?

Your humor knows no bounds!!! :P

I may have just misunderstood the posts... But to the original question, does anyone own a pair of these or the TCX SS range... are they any good/warm?

I own a pair of TCX Competizione RSboots (the one up from the S I think)

Really grat pair of boots. Not the warmest tbh as they have good ventilation when on the bike.

I find them far more secure feeling than my other Alpinestarrace boots.

The RS ones have everything you need (like the oil resistant rubber on the sole etc) and I got them as a steel on George white for £99.99 posted!

Try george white as I think there is some left. They are only cheaper on that site as they only have selected sizes.

I recommend them and are worth the money I paid neway.

Heres the link to the S and the RS

i got some compzones, i must say they are bloody hot, too much at the track, but a great boot and really good protection, comfortable, theyre more like my snowboard boots than any other boot ive owned! gotta say i do like my old knackered Sidis for theyre being light, thin and really comfy when its just too hot. dont expect to get jeans over them or anything!! i dont think is wear them as an everyday boot by choice, i would look at some of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TCX-SS-SPORT- ... 588f2c5fe7 cuz when your feet are wet in winter it dont matter how much padding is in there it will get cold! also they take ages to dry out if you get the soaked!

mate has the gortex version and they seem to let just as much water in!

I noticed the George white sale for £99 but sadly not my size... anyhow got a pair of competizone earlier this week, but sadly the 12 didnt fit, which is odd as the 12 of the TCX S sport did fit.. but there u go...

So since i cant justify spendin £190 on a pair my size (the 12's were £105) i think i may go for the Sidi fusion boots, as i have heard good things about them, plus the £30 less means i can spend abit more elsewhere! and if im really lucky i may get a discount with some good old fashioned shop batering.

I have the RS ones and i really rate them. Superb protectiona nd really comfy. I rode with them in 2 degree temp in Jan and was fine temp wise. Just slapped on some thicker socks and no issues at all.

Got mine from George White in Swindon.

Go for it :o)
