For everyone who didn't go. So basically... everyone.

First ride I have ever had with more than me and one other person..

Getting out of Lee Mill was a nightmare!

thousands of bikes trying to get out. About seven bikes side by side, on both sides of the road making it absalutely horrible to move, becasue you constantly had to look in your mirrors and do shoulder checks to make sure that the guy on your left, your right, the guy the other side of him, the guy slightly infront of you etc didnt want to get into that same space you do. I thought that the L-plates would give me a bit of a bubble to let me make little mistakes, but that wasnt the case, everyone was crammed in. I did however make contact with another bike, as we were stopping and starting so everyone had there feet down and almost dragging, so someone passed me and kicked my foot (not hard I should add) So overall, I was pretty proud of getting out of there alive, especially as it was on a very steep hill! (luckly thats the hill i practiced my hill starts on when i got the bike)

There were a lot of nice bikes there, but unfortunately I didnt get any at Lee mill, but i did get some at the end destination

We ended up having the left lane of duel-carriageway to ourselves due to police forcing the public to lane two to let us onto it safely. Although saying that, some cars did get back into the slow lane, so I sneakily followed another bike weaving through traffic, which I would normally never do (but they were only doing 40mph and noone was changing lanes due to the bikes so it was safe enough)

We also had a very nice policeman stopping other traffic at a busy traffic light controlled roundabout :)

Anyway, here are a few pics. I didnt get as many as I had hopes as i was too busy looking at them and listening to the amazing band. Then most of them had left the hoe (no jokes) http://farm1.static.flickr.com/146/436602480_4adc1c2396.jpg (not my picture)

(theses are :) )

(the bikes you can see are on a side road, the majority of them are to the right, which i couldn't get a decent pic of

I lost my bike a couple of times, then walked away from it and lost the thing again. It shouldnt have bee too hard to find as it was parked next to a green kwak, and I had the helmet over one mirror and blue jacket over the other... but it was!

There were also two matte black R1's and a couple of matte black harly's but I couldnt find the R1's on the hoe, and Harly's, well they arent worth taking a picture of haha

Also there were three wheelers, a few quads and a buggy

Overall I really enjoyed myself, apart from the guy who pulled out on me on the duel carriageway on the way home, last junction before mine and proceeded on giving me the w@nker sign, which really pi$$ed me off as he was the on in the wrong, but thats another story and has unfortunately turned my nice happy day into one of annoyance.

yea, was great fun and am doing it next year too :D

They were expecting to outnumber the amount that turned up last year, which was 8,000 but i have no idea how many were there this year. And each bike had to pay 3 or 5 pounds (depending if you had pillion) and it goes to charity, so it should have made the two charities pretty happy lol

Looks like a great turn out. If they are well run these events are good, but sometimes they just desnd into chaos.

Glad you enjoyed it

and on that note, great turn out - I hear it was 5,000 bikers so not as many as planned or hoped

as for well run - this year there were roadworks (plymouth is undergoing a 5 year roadwork thing, so nothing could have been done about it) but the dates were set back due to gas works near the hoe. And next year it is looking unlikely the police will help out, so the route will be changed, so not too sure about that haha

Also, this year a bike crashed into the back of a car, and last year there was an accident too :(

But anyway, forum members should definitely come down, its good fun!
