Guest Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Hello, So as my first big bike I had no idea what to get. So after asking my local mechanic he showed me this; http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/284525_10150275406354216_661309215_7438612_2276904_n.jpghttp://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/252038_10150275406304216_661309215_7438611_2067466_n.jpghttp://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/262851_10150275406249216_661309215_7438609_7345131_n.jpghttp://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/284353_10150275524424216_661309215_7439953_3872482_n.jpgIts from 1986 but is in a well pretty good condition. Only bad bits are a few tatty stickers and its missing a screen which i just bought on ebay for £10 . She's absolutly stunning IMO. After riding my cbr125 for 4 months sitting on this was like sitting in an arm chair. Sadly its hard to get parts for and as far as I've seen there Isn't any sites for it in Britain. (there is an owners club but its a tad pricey) Comments? Owned one before? would love to hear them Quote
Tango Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Yep....nice looking bike.... It really depends on what you're gonna use it for? Daily for commuting etc will probably cause problems with parts.....but if it's just for fun and a coupla thousand miles a year it will probably be OK. I've no experience with that model....but Honda's are normally fairly solid.Bob Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 i had a shaft drive import version of the cbx was a good bike i enjoyed it while it lasted Quote
Guest Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I really like it, Its just the right height im 5,5. Its a tad longer than I'm used to but I like it. Would rather have it and look after it than the bloke not be able to sell it and scrap it I'm glad I got a restrictor kit for it, I just want overtaking power as the cbr 125 isn't the best. Quote
Lonely Old Dave Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 You should be able to get parts from " David Silver " Quote
Colin the Bear Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Good bike to start with. Easy sevice too as I remember. You'll need retro gear to look the part Quote
Guest Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Can barely afford the tax let alone a new helmet etc lol. Restricted I imagine its slugish but as long as it outruns my cbr i'm not fussy lol Quote
Colin the Bear Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Restricted they're all the same innit? It won't out perform a modern 600. http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z28/Colin_the_bear/239.gifLot more fun tho imo Quote
