BoB3rt Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 hey,i first noticed this about 2-3 months ago. there was a slight movment or could feel a click in my bars when braking, however at this time no else could feel this if they had a go but i suppose i know my bike best.well it has gotten worse and there is definatly slight movment at the top side of the stem by the bar (or at least this is how it feels) it moves forward ever so slight when braking and sometimes can feel it go back to its original position. again it is so slight but i can feel it in my hands like a click or a nudge. caused no problems however best to get it sorted.will this most likely be the stem bearings that need replacing... the yoke is on tight and nothing appears to be loose. Thanks Rob Quote
Colin the Bear Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Most probably steering head bearings but could also be wheel bearings, broken frame, or something loose Quote
Stu Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 as above if you can support the front to get the weight off the steering and suspension you can easily check by pushing and pulling on the bottom of the forks Quote
megawatt Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 What they said, easily fixed if bearings aren't knackered. Clean out all the crap, regrease, adjust and rebuild. If still notchy, replace em! Quote
