People who saw stoners off and the shake of the front wheel when it came over the hill.. The comnentators talk about him losing his brakes because of it..

Someone explain to me how what and why it happens... I have no idea :D

I didn't see the race, but from your description, was the wheel off the ground as he came over the hill? Obviously his brakes wouldn't work if there's no tyre contact with the ground, but I've probably misunderstood what you mean as that sounds too simple an answer :P

I saw it - they said something about the pads moving in the calipers when he had the front wobble & that the brakes didn't work properly - hence he had to run into the gravel. :?

Having said that, I've got no idea what that actually means!

A good shake can cause the piston's to go back in the caliper so you have to pump the brakes back up that's why he lifted the rear too through pumping the brake back up fast

I've had it happen to me only the brake would come back for the corner and had to hope for the best!

Yep as stu said, only more common on the track unless your giving the beans on the road.

You will have heard the commentator also say the brake lever would have come all the way back ie. no brakes!

Hence he then pumped the brake asap and popped the back wheel up.

Unfortunate really, think he would have held 1st

I understood what happened but didnt get why it got rid of the brakes, so is it just the force from the shaking that moves the pistons back?
