Ok so some good news!

Should be picking up my first bike this week but have a quick question.

I need to obviouslt take gear etc..up but never ridden with a rucksack on (going to the girl's straight after) so is it much different ridiing with a rucksack? Or should I just try and avoid having anything on my back?

No. Just make sure you keep the straps tight so it doesn't have chance to wobble around and you won't even know it's there (unless you carry a pile of house bricks, then it'll be just like having a pillion)

No riding is fine, just remember when putting it on over all your kit try not do what i did tor my shoulder muscle, been hurting for a year now.

How I did it??? still not sure, I just loosen it fully to put it on and tighten it up once it on.

I have a smallish rucksack that I have used on the bike and never noticed any difference. Bit of a bugger to get on over my jacket though!!
