No it's not!!! Is it burning it? Is it coming out of engine breather. Is it discoloured? More info needed. DON'T RIDE IT!!!

I have no idea.. Its not coming out the exhaust or pouring out the engine anywhere.. Its used about 400ml in about 800 miles.. So not loads, due for a service soon, they can check it then :) if i can be bothered ill take a spark plug out and see if its burning it :)

If it's not dropping it then it must be burning it.......but all engines will burn some oil. How often do you change the oil? Less than half a litre in 800 miles don't sound too excessive...but maybe a bit more than it should. Fresh oil may reduce that.

My 98 RRW Fireblade with 40,000 miles on it, burns no oil. I never have to top it up, or the coolant!!!

I checked up with my old SV who I sold to a friend...

It's almost got 40k on the clock and has consumed 1 litre of oil in the last 3000 miles or so.

Maybe the rings arent that great, maybe the oil is too thin who knows

I read recently about a bike that switched to a thinner fully synthetic oil and it started sipping it after never having done previously.

Keep riding it, see what happens?

I have an SV, it has just over 15K on the clock and it gets an oil change when it gets a full service, once a year. Never had any problems with it in the oil department!
