Throttled Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Late for work this morning as the engine would start, then it would go into gear but as soon as I let the clutch out the revs died away and the engine would stop.Suggestions appreciated Quote
Throttled Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 No I definitely put it up, but I didn't check to make sure it had gone all the way up, so the cut off switch may still had been engaged. I'll look at that when I get home but the way the engine died it was just like when the stand is down. Quote
megawatt Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Does it lurch forward when you put it in gear? Quote
strongy3362 Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Done that at Brighton seafront in the summer. And I was thinking what could it be done it about 5 times then some bloke come up and said your side stands down felt a right idiot. Lol Quote
Throttled Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 Does it lurch forward when you put it in gear? No, it just cuts out. It maybe down to me getting lazy and jet washing the bike at work a few days ago as it was so covered in crud, especially where the side stand is As soon as I get home I'll check it. Quote

I had a job like that once. Now, in retirement, I have to do everything on my own time. Quote
Colin the Bear Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Some have a micro switch on the clutch lever, mine has, so you can start it in gear, check there too Quote

(Which are extended to the staff as well as we get down times when there really is nothing to do and its good for moral) Quote
Throttled Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 Yup, stiff cut off switch for the side stand. Some WD40 has helped free it up. Quote
