Guest Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I own a Yamaha 125 Vity. I went to set off for work this morning and the bike will not come off the center stand. It's moving forward ever so slightly but the stand just will not go up.In the manual it states that the stand is locked into position when their is no key in the ignition, but I have the key in.Could it possibly be a lock pin or something maybe??Would like help before I have to call a professional out.Thank you Quote
mealexme Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 never had a bike that locks he centre stand. try turning the ignition to the on position rather than just putting the key in and see if that helps? I can't imagine it would unlock by just putting the key in and not turning it.if not then have a look under the bike to see if you can tell if it is locked. the professionals cost quite a bit, and i imagine even more if you call them out.also try sitting on the bike and pushing it off its stand that way, because it is possible if it is your first bike that you haven't quite got the technique to get it off its stand right Quote
Boro Jake Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Have you tried a spray of lubricant, could be seized. Quote
Tango Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Sounds like the pin in the locking mechanism has seized or stuck......bit of spray lube may sort it for you..... Quote
