I've got a million of them, I have been trawling cafe racer and street fighter sites for the last number of months. The amount I have learned from them is gigantic as I am looking to start a street fighter build using an older CBR600F, as I know they are solid bikes.

But, I have some questions firstly as I will also in the near future take on a cafe racer project. I had 4 projects on the go at once recently all for other people and I found that I am able to take them apart even without a manual available.

So

1: Is it possible to take a bike with 2 rear shocks like a CB250 and convert it to a monoshock using custom built mounts, and if so...

What do I have to consider? Is the angle of the shock important? Is the type I use important? How do I know which to use?

2: Using fibreglass I can make body panels using a wooden skeleton packed with foam as a guide. Is it possible to create a fuel tank then? And if so...

Do I need to fit a metal tank to hold the fuel inside the fibreglass shell? I will need to make it in 2 halves, the cover and the under side that fits around the frame. How do I connect the two halves together?

3: To do with electrical looms. I am electrically minded and can wire things with reasonable amount of competance. Where can I source connectors from that will fit a bike? What type of connectors are best to use? What type of wire is best to use and where do you source it?

I'll leave it at that for now as the answers will likely be big to some of them

Thanks in advance :)

yes it is possible to convert twin shock to mono shock you would need to brace the frame up behind the engine as the shock would have to mount there somewhere it might also mean removing battery and air box to allow room, yes the angle is fairly important to get the shock to work correctly or it will act like a rigid link.

for wiring loom making look at a kit like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE-CO ... 0334316764

Yeah....you need to have a metal fuel tank....although I know some scooters have plastic ones.... A fibreglass shell around it would be OK though. You would need some kind of lip at the edges of the sections where you can bond it together, but the lip could be "internal" so that the outside is kept smooth....

the cbr range has a plastic cover over the tank, makes replacing them cheaper in a crash.
