Boro Jake Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Running my Fazer on K&N, Motad downpipes & A GPR Racing can, since changing the downpipes from OE i've noticed the MPG drop from 48 to 40? or could it be due to the cold weather?Bike certainly performs alot better, better low and mid range dont notice any puffs of smoke. Stu Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 If anything it would be running lean with the k&n not over fuelling It could be down to the cold weather Quote
megawatt Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Is it carbed or injected. Your mods would want to produce a power increase , which means that the ECU would see it running lean and increase the fuel flow to maintain the correct A/F ratio, about 13/1, so if it is producing more power it will burn more fuel !!! If it is carbed, it will be running lean and will need bigger main jets and needles modding? Quote

Just wondering if it will cause implications. Quote

There is only a few bikes that can alter fuelling while on the move but none of them can adjust it enough to compensate for a better flowing air filter then there is the can and pipes! I wish they could though I wouldn't need to get my power commander remapped every time I play with my bike Quote
megawatt Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Best get it on a Dyno and sort out the fuelling mate!!! Quote
Colin the Bear Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 More performance uses more fuel. It's physics. You can't get more kinetic energy out without putting more chemical energy in.Back off a little for better mpg. Mine does 25 mpg when enjoying the road and 60 mpg when tootling along Quote
