Ryder2889 Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 My bike is a Yamaha YBR 125. I have not been using it much the past few years but I dusted it off this morning, inflated the tyres, made sure it had fuel and oil, tested the breaks etc.. then have been flying around.I dont really know if what I think I am experiencing is a problem, the only way I can describe this smell is the smell of a new engine. Its like a slight burning type smell but you would not really call it "burning burning".Anyway, I just got back and I can smell this smell coming from the exhaust.I know its probably nothing, the bike is in great condition with only a few thousand miles use, and like I said it has plenty of oil and the petrol has been sat in the bike about 6 weeks maybe? eastanglianbiker Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 could well be just the dust getting hot and burning off the engine and exhaust if the oil levels are fine Quote
Stu Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Just what I was thinking If you have also been out in the rain it could just be road crap Quote
OhJay Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Have you ACF'ed it? Recently did both of ours and first time we started them up afterwards we rode off with a smokescreen Quote
Guest Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Chain lube overspray on the exhaust smells pretty horrible too. Quote
