Exhaust

Hi, i'm thinking of putting an aftermarket exhaust on my fz 8, I was thinking about the MTC range, I assume they are a simple thing to fit?

Also, if I were to be over the noise limit (if stopped) what is the penalty? just a fine?

I don't know about your bike specifically....but normally these aftermarket exhausts are fairly easy to fit. I don't know what the penalty is for having a loud exhaust on your bike.... I think the police will tend to turn a blind eye as long as it's not silly loud.....but it does give them the excuse to pull you over to check other things too..... You could of course get a Road Legal can.....some are nice sounding, but don't rattle windows as you ride past..... Some have removable dB killers....so you can run them loud or quieter as you want.....

I wouldnt worry about how loud the bike will be only if its silly loud (straight through V-twin pipes) would you get any real hassle.

I will second the MTC can, if you shoot down there on the bike one day for a ride (give them a ring first let them know ya coming)

they should get everything you want sorted for it and then collect or deliver i suppose.

I still have a £200 voucher i won to spend with them

Well i got the tri-oval exhaust, love it. However, its popping like crazy when I take the revs off, I expected a certain noise, but this doesn't sound quite right to me. Did I miss something, or should I ignore it?
