Why not wear your sailing gear Al, I`m sure thats WELL waterproof,

I have seriously worn those yellow oilies (bottom half) I brought for that trip a while ago.

Brilliant at keeping water out even around the crotch. Wish I`d have used them last Friday.

My Goretex Hein Gericke jacket has proved to be great, but then again my RST Pro-series trousers have also never let a drop in. At £300 for a full set of the RST I'd stronly recommend them.

And... If no mains power available, how long would a 12vdc to 220vac invertor last when powered from a bike battery?

Al, Roy got one that apparently works really well from the BMF for £20 ( I think) might be worth waiting if you`re not doing many miles in the rain up until then. (supposed summer being on the way)

I've been through Scottish weather in my Hein Gericke suit and stayed stone dry, the suit did cost me £750 and I look like a south cardinal buoy but does the trick, my boots also work well theyre TCX touring boots, cost around £140
