Had an explore and Abington to the A76 via Leadhills and Wanlockhead (B797) is a great road and climb

The Mennock Pass down from Wanlockhead to the A76 is the best part, twisting, narrow and I saw people panning for gold in the river!

The road surface is good, just watch for sheep.

It was a dry afternoon, with some light drizzle

I want to investigate the little road to the north, the B740. Hopefully it is strewn with pot holes and rocks, just as I like them!

b740 also good road watch out for lorrys tho but you should have turned off at leadhills to your right onto b7040 then right again onto a702 ( dalvene pass) very good road lots of fun to be had then back up the a76 for some more twistys

Sanquhar to Crawfordjohn to Leadhills is excellent, apart form the sheep, the lorries, the muck, the stones, the pot holes, but otherwise it is a great run

its a better road in the summer
