CG nuts Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Hi , just fitted new throttle cable that runs smoothly as it should. Bike rides fine but when i stop on tickover the revs build up slowly to a peak and then die down again. Also when gear changing and throttling down , the revs stay high? No sticking cable and float is free running . Bike only revs high when i stop only on occasion , but not always . Had lots of bike previous so i know it's not my riding... any ideas ? The bike was the same before i fitted new cable .... Cheers Pete Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 sounds to me like a sticky cable or throttle on handlebar or mixture of fuel.........if cables are new and moving freely (not being pinched at some point) then make sure the slide is moving freely up and down in the carb check condition of air filter Quote
Tango Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 And also check that you've not got an air leak around the carb....particularly on the inlet stub to the cylinder head..... Quote
CG nuts Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Thanks for the replies , will check these things out ... Pete Quote
Colin the Bear Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Possible sticking choke. Make sure it's working as it should. Quote
CG nuts Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 I've also notice the engine revs increase when i pull the clutch in sometimes.....?? Quote
